The USJ-HDF hospital network is currently the largest healthcare system in Lebanon, bringing together several medical institutions distributed across the entire national territory. Established in 2022 in response to the country’s multiple economic, health, and security crises, the network comprises Hôtel-Dieu de France and five affiliated hospitals: Saint-Charles Hospital in Fayadieh-Baabda, Monseigneur Cortbawi Hospital in Adma, Tel Chiha Hospital in Zahle, and, since 2023, Notre Dame de la Paix Hospital in Akkar and the Family Medical Center (FMC) in Zgharta. The network has also initiated international expansion through a strategic partnership with the Middle East Hospital (MEH) in Baghdad, Iraq.

With more than 900 beds, 27 operating rooms, over 700 physicians, and 2,000 employees, the network provides care to tens of thousands of patients annually and performs several thousand surgical procedures. It ensures continuity, coordination, and accessibility of care by facilitating patient pathways across its various facilities, particularly for specialized and urgent treatments.

By pooling human, technical, and financial resources, the network optimizes investment efforts and integrates the latest medical and technological advancements. Each hospital can focus on its own specialty, developing into a center of excellence while benefiting from the support and synergy of the broader network.

The network also includes a variety of medical services and associated entities such as ClinDoctor, a telemedicine platform; HDF at Home; HDF Santé, an exclusive insurance product for the network; as well as HDF medical centers across Lebanon—including the first in Antelias—a mobile clinic, and an ambulance service that connects all these components. Social commitment lies at the heart of this system, with dedicated structures supporting vulnerable populations, a solidarity fund for patients in need, and community clinics focusing on family medicine and primary care.

In the face of the growing challenges facing Lebanon’s healthcare system, the USJ-HDF Network stands as a structured and unified response that promotes resilience and innovation. Its expansion strategy—grounded in cooperation, specialization, and continuous improvement of the patient experience—positions the network as a cornerstone for ensuring equitable access to high-quality care, while contributing to the regional and international visibility of the Lebanese medical sector.
