Gynecology and Obstetrics Investigation Center

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Investigation Center at the Hôtel-Dieu de France was inaugurated in March 2022.

The Center is divided into two departments.

The first one is dedicated to pregnant women and offers examinations and ultrasounds performed with advanced devices and provides the necessary diagnosis to detect any kind of abnormality likely to arise during pregnancy. Thus, an amniocentesis, a fetal blood sample or a trophoblast biopsy can be performed to ensure that the pregnancy is progressing normally. This department stands out for the fetal surgery performed by experienced medical practitioners, given that this intervention is only required in the second or third semester of pregnancy in certain special cases.

The second department aims to perform advanced explorations in obstetrical gynecology on the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and to follow-up cases of women suffering from the HPV. It provides colposcopy assessment for a thorough analysis of the cervix and vagina. Biopsies are also performed at this department to examine abnormal cell mutations occurring in the female reproductive system to track the spread of the disease.
