Spiritual retreat Christmas 2024

Journée spirituelle Noël

On the occasion of the Christmas festivities, a spiritual retreat was held at the Monastery of Saint-Sauveur in Ghosta on Saturdays, December 14 and 21, 2024, under the theme: "Behold, I am doing a new thing" (Isaiah 43:19).
This retreat offered participants a valuable opportunity to recharge spiritually and reflect on the profound message of Christmas.

The day began with morning prayer led by the Reverend Father Wadih Nehme, setting a tone of contemplation and meditation. Following this, Brother Michael Gobrial, S.J., delivered an enriching spiritual session. During this session, Brother Gobrial offered reflections on the state of the world today, highlighting the stark contrast between the realities of war and the peaceful birth of Christ. He spoke of the contradictions between disappointment and forgetfulness on one hand, and the life-giving presence of God in our lives on the other.

The discussions were especially dynamic, allowing participants to share their ideas and personal experiences while exploring the many dimensions of the birth of Jesus Christ. This session created space to deepen one's faith, engage in self-reflection, and rekindle hope at the heart of this Advent season.

The retreat concluded with a Mass celebrated by the priests of the HDF-USJ Network—a powerful moment of prayer and communion. It marked the end of a day dedicated to spiritual introspection, offering everyone the chance to experience a “new birth” in their hearts and to share grace and joy during this blessed time of Christmas.
