On International Nurses Day, the Nursing Council of Hôtel-Dieu de France organized a ceremony on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in the N. and H. Obegi auditorium. Under the theme "Our Nurses, Our Future", the President of the Nursing Council, Mrs. Bouchra Khaled, began by saying, “We have experienced many crises and hardships in HDF this year, and we were able, through everyone’s efforts, to overcome them". She then welcomed the new nurses, whom she called “the future of this establishment”. Afterwards, the Director of Nursing, Sister Suzanne Eid, spoke about the importance of celebrating this day, stressing that the nurses’ professionalism is “not reduced to the simple knowledge of science and the technical procedures of care. It is also illuminated by the tireless and grueling effort to discern each person’s health experience”. Finally, the Director General of HDF, Mr. Nassib Nasr, concluded his word by saying that he appreciates the persistent efforts of nurses, stressing their fundamental role in “adding more days to patients”. Livened up by musical breaks, this ceremony was also an opportunity to honor and pay tribute to four nurses who had accumulated 25 years of service at Hôtel-Dieu de France, as well as to present certificates to the winners of the “Positive Waves” vote, which was previously organized. The ceremony ended with a cocktail in the bamboo garden.
